Where the Spirit Meets the Bone

Donna’s multi-block reduction woodcut Persephone was in a great show at Arts Benicia, juried by Diane Williams, entitled Where the Spirit Meets the Bone: Grief and Healing. The exhibition sought to convey how expressive mark-making can provide a vehicle to communicate the universal human feelings of grief and loss, and create a safe space for healing. The various media and styles of art provided a vehicle for individuals to describe and communicate feelings that might otherwise be difficult to express.
